I've a question for ye, the unnamed masses of deviantART:

Why, oh why, do you use multiple accounts?

I often hear the excuse that "I submit a bunch of this or that, and that's not what my watchers like to see" or "I submit sooo much, that I feel like I'm spamming my watchers."

But you don't understand, this is why we watch you. We want to see your art, and by creating and submitting to alt accounts you are doing your watchers a disservice. You submit such a wonderful variety of art, and so often, that it is a pleasure to know that there is at least one or two (sometimes even more, on a good day!) of your works waiting for me in my devWatch every day.

Please, you are but one artist, you should go by one name. We have subgalleries now, you can organize your art to your heart's content. Do not worry about our devWatches. I mean, have you seen the v6 message centre? If I see something that I don't feel like taking a closer look at it's all of one click to remove it. It's no big deal, really.

Besides that, by keeping a single account you benefit yourself greatly. Why, just think about where I would be if I had made another account just for my chainmaille, and another just for my emotes, and yet another just for my Greasemonkey scripts. You all might be calling it the "ZikesGM," and "What the hell happened to my ZikesGM?!" just doesn't have a very good ring to it at all

I feel like I need to take a stand now. I'm not watching any more alt accounts, and any that I am watching will be unwatched (I think there's all of two in there ). Believe me, I'm doing this for your own good.
